We would love to hear any advice, stories you would like to ‘pass on’ to the entering class or a simple hello, like the friendly hello you received on campus when you were a student!
To submit photo or video welcome messages email to bmccombs@wittenberg.edu.

I was not excited about going to Wittenberg- I would be living at home and walking the two blocks to classes every day. I REALLY wanted to go away to college, live in a dorm, make my own decisions, etc. But after the first day that all changed because Witt was such a friendly place. I had a great four years there, learned to play bridge, and made some wonderful friends. Oh, yes, the classes and professors were great, too. My daughter is also a Wittenberg graduate (she lived on-campus which we both felt was very important for a college student).
Hard to believe it has been 57 years when I began at Witt!
Welcome Tigers,
My years at Wittenberg were some of the best and I met some of the most amazing people. I am in contact with most of them today. Only having graduated in 2005, I still have been able to do so much with my life because of how well the faculty set me up for success!
I encourage all of you to open your minds to all things Witt. Don’t let yourself fall to the wayside of what is going on all around you. Be active. Play disc golf. See shows. Be outside (all seasons). Sled in the hollow. And so much more!
Lastly, our alumni (myself included) are amazing. Use us upon graduation. We are all one once we leave here.

Congratulations on your acceptance and the decision to attend Witt. I graduated in 1986 and my daughter is now a member of the Class of 2015! To all the incoming freshman, you are in for the experience of your respective lives. I look back at Wittenberg as the 4 most important years of my life. It made me what I am today, and I am so thankful for that. Good luck to all of you!
Best wishes for four wonderful and inspiring years at Wittenberg. WU campus is as beautiful of any; I’ve returned many times and always admire it. May you enjoy every class and having light, pass it on to others.
Go Tigers!

Congrats on being accepted to the class of 2015! I’ve not been back to the campus in many years. I remember my first semester well. I hope that
all of you find yourself and your passions as I did. After 25 years I still have friendships that are close. I wish you could have the Keller Hall experience but it no longer stands. The wall by the union now has a bronze statue of a student there. I proposed to my bride of 23 years on that wall-however,the kissing bridge is also a wonderful place. I dont recommend all nighters. You are in luck with your studies and term papers because type writters with correction tape are now extinct!
Best Wishes to you.

Welcome to Wittenberg and college Life!
(And a special welcome to Hoosier students)
A vivid freshman memory – our sophomore dorm mates next door introducing us to The Police, which was great but their timing – late night early morning – was not so great! Share your favorite music but be considerate!
-Gayle ’86
Welcome class of 2015! That is so crazy – I graduated in 2005 – will it really be 10 years so soon! Well, when I came to Witt, I was a transfer student from a very big university. When I arrived on campus all these people I didn’t know were saying “hi” to me. I called my parents and told them how “weird” I thought it was. However, after only a short time at Witt, I began to be one of those people who says hello to everyone! It’s just that Wittenberg spirit; it starts with friendly smiles and random “Hello’s” when you arrive on campus! Enjoy your years at Witt and say Hi to people when you see them – it’s infectious!
Welcome! We’re glad you’re here. My piece of advice: don’t wait till 2 a.m. the night before your first college essay to visit the library website: http://www.wittenberg.edu/lib. You have access to the research resources your professors want to see in your bibliography – many of them electronically! Plus, OhioLINK will deliver print materials and media directly to Wittenberg…for free!
Bottom line: Make friends with your librarian – we know a lot about information, whether it’s in print or digital, and we love helping you search!

Hello class of 2015! I hope you’re all getting excited about starting at Witt. It will be the best four years of your life. I have just returned from Lesotho Africa on a month long trip with fellow Wittenbergers. I couldn’t imagine spending that time with a better group. Don’t be afraid to step out and try new things, you will be surrounded by people who support you! Tiger Up!!

I was hoping to see a post here from my son Jess, but I guess I don’t get to see his writting skills, yet, (lol) The site did look like the students are having fun and what better way to get an education than having fun doing it. Hope everyone has a great year. Good Luck to everyone.
Welcome class of ’15!!
Get ready to work hard, meet new people, challenge yourself in more ways than you thought possible, and, oh yeah, have a lot of fun doing it! Witt is the place to be, and welcome to the family! See you around campus!
Tiger UP!!

Also, if any of you are from the great state of Wisconsin, then you are in good company!
This is SUCH an exciting time! Welcome to Witt! Keep your minds open for you never know what will happen in these next four years! I, myself, am a transfer, and am very glad to have transferred to Wittenberg. See you on campus in about a month!
Peace and blessings,
Sara ’14
Welcome to Wittenberg, class of 2015. As everyone has noted below, the next four years will be filled with adventures and experiences, both academic and social. On the academic side, you’ll quickly note that your professors consider writing to be an important part of your education. And when you do write, remember that writers use readers, and the Writing Center has a group of fellow students to serve as readers–for any writing project at any stage of your process.
When you’re on campus this fall, stop by to see us in Hollenbeck 112. And again, welcome to Witt.
Hello and welcome to the the Class of 2015!
I am so glad you will be coming to Witt in the fall! I know you will have a great time here at Wittenberg and will become a part of this place that has so much to offer you. I hope to see you at a Witt Nation event this summer. We cannot wait to see you on campus in the fall as you begin what I know will be a great journey!

Hello everybody! I may be joining Wittenberg this fall (not sure yet). I’m from New Delhi, India and Wittenberg seems like such a great place to study at. I’ll be majoring in Biochemistry and minoring in the Visual arts. I’m a transfer student and I am so sure that Wittenberg will be the school that will finally be the perfect place for me
Whats good ’15!?!

Hey there new Tigers!
I know its been said many times before me, but get ready for a wild next 4 years! Witt is the place that pretty much offers everything for anyone. So whether you’re into biology or writing a novel or like me, a love of foreign languages and traveling… we got it all! And best thing anyone here could tell you, we’re all pretty close so when your *shock* of being in a new place with all new people wears off GET INVOLVED!
Guys and Gals…. Try out for the WITT CHOIR, we’re pretty fantastic if I say so myself! *Also – Go through Greek Recruitment, could be best decision of a lifetime [2nd best to choosing Wittenberg, of course
]
See y’all around campus soon!
P.s. Shout out to ANY incoming MINNESOTANS!!!
Hey Tigers of 2015!
Coming to Wittenberg was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life so far. It is a home, and a family. You will seriously love your next 4 years here, just as I enjoyed my first year and am looking forward to my next 3. Like many are saying, you will have the time of your life here, and we will all do our best to make you feel right at home. Get to know people, try new things, and just embrace everything about Wittenberg; you won’t be sorry! Can’t wait to see all of you guys in August!
Oh, and remember to have fun during orientation. Because yes, some things might seem mildly embarrassing, but it’s 100% more fun if you just stop worrying about how silly it all feels and how you look (Everyone else is doing the same thing as you).
Tiger Up!

Hey 2015ers,
Get ready for the ride of a lifetime.
Have fun, study hard, make as many friends as you can, try something new, be social, find a group or club that interest you.
Trying as many things as you can and being open is the best advice I can give.
I consider Witt home. Hope you do too.
Also, try playing rugby.
WittLove,
Sash
Class of 2015ers!! I am so pumped for you to officially get to campus!!
Just remember these wise words: Do as much as you can, while you can. And in the wise words of Van Wilder, “Don’t take life too seriously, you’ll never make it out alive.” Seriously consider those words when here at Wittenberg, because there is magic here, yes, there is magic. Enjoy your time here, guaranteed to be the best time of your life! (If you live by those words, of course.)

Welcome to the Witt Family, Class of 2015! You all made a wicked awesome choice to come here, and the next four years of your life are guaranteed to be a blast! We’re so excited to have you on campus, and I can’t wait to meet all of you in August! Witt’s a great place
Have a blast while you’re here. Step outside your comfort zone. Try something new. Take advantage of all the leadership opportunities here! There’s definitely something here for everyone, and being involved in something bigger than yourself is pretty awesome!
Ladies, I know it’s already been said, but I also highly encourage all of you to go through Formal Recruitment during spring semester! Whether or not you plan on joining a house, you meet SO many fabulous women and you learn a bit about yourself in the process. And in the process, you might find a group of women that you could never imagine your life without!
Welcome home, and Tiger up!
Mandy, Class of 2014
ay yo class of 2015,

Welcome to the family, ’15! We are really looking forward to meeting all of you! There are a TON of great things to do once you come to campus, so remember to check out all the groups and events that happen all over Witt. WUSO, Martial Arts Club, American International Association, Dance Team, different sports, and other clubs area great way to meet people and build life-long friendships. Hope to see you guys around campus this fall!!
A big welcome to the Class of 2015 — and a special shout-out to Brianna Dudley! We’re looking forward to having the newest members of the Wittenberg family on campus. For the rest of your lives, the years you spend here will be imbedded in your hearts. Connect with your professors, get involved in campus life and make new friends, but prioritize, seek balance — and always remember how much your scholarships helped to make your Wittenberg experience possible.

Class of 2015, Welcome to Wittenberg! Enjoy your summer, and get excited for new educational and social opportunities this fall. You’re going to love Witt.
-Stefan ’08
Class of ’15 – Welcome to Witt!!!
I hope you’re all super excited to move in and start your college years – you are going to love it here! As a Witt grad, my biggest piece of advice is to cherish every day you have here because it goes by so fast! Motivate yourself to take advantage of any opportunity that comes your way. You’re only in college once (most likely), and it’s your time to explore new horizons and take chances. Study abroad, get involved on campus in anything you want and don’t worry what anyone else thinks of you. Be yourself. Smile and say hello to people! Open yourself up to getting to know as many people as possible, and you will quickly fall in love with this place and the people here.
Oh, and definitely attend as many campus events as possible – my favorites are the dance concerts and the a capella group performances.
Welcome to Wittenberg! I enjoyed meeting some of you during pre-orientation advising and I look forward to your arrival in August.

Hey Class of 2015!
I’m excited to meet as many of you as I can. Because Witt’s a small community environment, it’s easy to learn and remember faces that you see as you walk around campus every day.
Just one short year ago, I was in your shoes. I came to a school where I was the only one from my high school class. I came to Witt knowing virtually no one. I’m sure that will be happening to a lot of you, but don’t worry! There are plenty of friendly people around for you to get to know…including me, so add me on Facebook!
I’m living in Myers next year, and I’m looking forward to meeting everyone that I’ll be living with!
Congrats on your acceptance and I’ll see you in the fall!
Andrea ’14
Welcome Class of 2015!

Welcome again and I look forward to seeing you soon!

I’m so excited that you’re all coming to Witt! I’m an RA in New Dorm this next year, so I can’t wait to meet all of my residents and all of the other freshman on the New Student Days! Welcome to Witt!
Welcome to Witt!
You’ve made a great decision-Wittenberg is a great place!
3 pieces of advice:
1. Don’t be afraid to ask questions or to ask for help. We have all been in your shoes and are happy to help.
2. Join clubs. They are a great place to meet people and a way to get involved in Witt’s great community.
3. GIRLS! Go through sorority formal recruitment! Even if you don’t plan on going Greek it is another great place to meet people and you might even want to join one! I love my sorority!
It’s your turn to start passing the light!
~Natalie ’12
Welcome to Witt 2015! You will love the campus, the people, and the sense of being at home that comes with Wittenberg. I’m looking forward to seeing you! Be sure to go to the Activity Fair because Witt has a LOT to offfer!
Welcome to Wittenberg.
I hope the rest of your summer is grand and that you arrive here in August fresh and ready for a life-changing four years. One of the best parts of this job (as a member of the faculty) is seeing so many of my students become who they really are here on campus, in our classrooms, labs, field experiences, studios, athletic fields & courts, concert halls, residence halls, etc. The worst part of this job is seeing you graduate and leave after becoming so fond of you!
Three questions: (1) Do you yet know who the six figures on the chapel steeple are? (2) Do you yet know where the Wittenberg motto on the seal comes from? (3) Do you yet know about the mysterious ghost horse that haunts Myers Hall?
I look forward to your joining us in August,
Don Reed
Professor of Philosophy
Welcome to Wittenberg!
For any incoming freshmem living in Ferncliff, add me on Facebook.

What up Witt! Welcome to the family!
Meet as many people as you can, and try just as many new things. Get ready for 4 great years. Can’t wait to meet more of you.
-Liam ’12

Fabulous ’15ers!!!!
Welcome to Witt. You made the right choice, as for your friends…. just kidding.
As an admission counselor it can be very rewarding to meet you as high school students and watch you transform during your time at this amazing place. I just have one piece of advise, EXPLORE!
Take the time to do things you’ve never done before and meet other people that you never would have hung out with before. You can learn a lot about yourself and others if you just take the time to step outside of yourself!
Have a blast and TIGER UP!
Sarah ’08
I’m looking forward to meeting many of you in my English, WittSem, and Honors classes over the next few years. You’re joining a wonderful tradition of learning, self-discovery, and friendship!
