Chowdah City

ChowdahToday we said goodbye to New York and hello to another east coast favorite, Boston. While traffic and lack of road signs in the city caused a slight delay in our arrival to the event, we were still met with the smiling faces of our alumni. Together we did a little yard work at the Green Tree Girls facility in Arlington and followed up our hard work with an early dinner nearby. All any of us wanted to do in Boston was eat clam chowder (chow-dah) and eat clam chowder we did. Dinner was a lot of fun and Katie Proctor '06 even gave us a few sample energy pills and drinks to help us along on the late night drives. Right now I am wedged between a Wittenberg cornhole set and a sleeping Ann Bixel anxiously anticiapting our arrival in Philadelphia. Lunch at the Liberty Bell should be fun. We are ready for the authentic Philly cheese steak (apparently a lot of this trip revolves around food).

New York State of Mind

This morning we arrived in New York to a Dunkin Donuts welcome from alums Mindi Laine and Tom Haushalter. We had just enough time to shower and head out in the van for today's event in Central Park. Driving and parking in New York has presented a few challenges (and potential heart attacks) but with Bob as our driver and Tom as our navigator we made it to the park in one piece. With a little blood, sweat and tears we dragged our supplies to Sheep's Meadow and were even mistaken for a camera crew (thanks to Ross' equipment).

The event was amazing with over 45 alums in attendance. It was a true Wittenberg event, cornhole and all. We even taught a few random New Yorkers how to play. There was a lot of excitement in the park due to a free Bon Jovi concert later tonight but our party still turned a lot of heads. We plan to continue the fun with some new alumni friends tonight!
