Wittenberg Theatre Department Presents Fall Dance Concert Nov. 1-4
Springfield, Ohio – The Wittenberg University Department of Theatre and Dance presents its annual Fall Dance Concert, directed by Shih-Ming Li Chang, associate professor of theatre and dance, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 1-3, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, in Chakeres Memorial Theatre, 905 Woodlawn Ave.
In addition to the annual concert, there will be a public prelude at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, in Chakeres Memorial Theatre. This free performance offers students the opportunity to show what they have learned in 10 weeks of dance classes.
Fourteen pieces representing a wide range of cultures and dance styles will be performed, ranging from lyrical jazz to hip-hop to modern to tap. Thirteen of the pieces have been choreographed by Wittenberg students and one has been choreographed by Rashana Smith, adjunct professor of theatre and dance.
A total of 45 dancers were selected to perform in the 2012 Fall Dance Concert. Dancers include Danielle O’Neill, Alexis Baker, Allie Lawwill, Allison Perry, Aly Michaud, Amanda Comer, Amanda Hanisch, Ana Paula Veiga, Annie Clevidence, Ashley Brake, Ben Longstreth, Bobby Reynolds, Brandia Hayes, Brandon Moranz, Chelsea Williams, Deanna Mychalishyn, Dorri Jones, Emily Sobieralskie, Grant Warden, Jacquie Alexander, Justin McDowell, Katherine Kiedaisch, Katie DelBello, Kayla Villegas, Kieran Conway, Krissy Hartman, Lauren Campbell, Lauren Swanson, LInzey Rice, Maggie Owens, Mary Lynch, Mckenzie Hopkins, Meagan Biglow, Melissa Hummel, Meredith Wells, Molly Alderson, Nicole Cooney, Nikki Strah, Rebecca Fiete, Ryan Peterkoski, Sara Horsley, Sarah Boughter, Sarah Royal and Tyler Wyche.
Tickets cost $5 each – Wittenberg students receive one free ticket with their Wittenberg ID. Tickets go on sale in the Benham-Pence Student Center Service Center 10 days before the performances begin and one hour prior to each performance.
