At the international Joint Statistics Meeting, held in Vancouver in August, Doug Andrews, professor of statistics, will present a paper for the statistical education section of the American Statistical Association, reviewing national efforts at incorporating statistical consulting in undergraduate programs, and highlighting the statistical consulting practicum that serves as a capstone experience for senior math majors on the new statistics track.

’32 |Virginia Mallory celebrates her 100th birthday in April at her home in Bowling Green, Ohio.
’36 |William G. Frick Sr., retiring in 1983 after a lifetime of service with the U.S. Navy, the Coca Cola Co., the Capehart/Farnsworth Co. and the Zenith Corp., lives in Savannah, Ga. He is a bi-weekly golfer and habitual user of his exercise bike.

’49 | David L. and Bonnie Huprich Scharf ’47 live in Akron, Ohio. In February 2009, David retired as pastor emeritus at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church after 60 years in the ministry.

’65 | M. Earl Chadwick ’69S retired after 30 years of service with the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court in Dayton, Ohio, where he managed an employment program, helped develop a community prison and oversaw the implementation of a justice information system. He lives in Miamisburg, Ohio.
