It’s been exactly a week today that I was boarding my first flight in Montego Bay, Jamaica to come back to dear old Wittenberg. Coming back, was a little bitter-sweet, as it usually is for me. As excited as I was to start a whole new round of classes, and see all my friends, I always feel like I’m leaving a big part of me behind at home. I had two flights- from Montego Bay- to Houston, and then to Dayton. I must say, if you’re booking any flights in the near future- avoid Houston. The 2 hours, and 45 minutes I spent standing in customs was enough for me to decide that I will never ever go back there, unless I have a very good reason to.
As usual I decided to come back really late Sunday night, so I didn’t really have time to get settled in or anything. I spent a few moments talking to my family and friends back home, and I was off to bed immediately in preparation for my 9AM Psych & Law Class. This semester is definitely one of my hardest. I have 22 hours of class every week, which amounts to 4 + hours of class every single day, but at least I can say that I’m definitely enjoying all of them so far. I was a little worried about picking up Spanish- but Prof Cantrell is hilarious, and he’s alleviated most of my fears thus far.
The only other thing that’s really happened thus far, other than classes and homework- is the beginning of recruitment on Saturday. It was great to meet all the beautiful women that came through our house, and I’m excited for new sisters next Sunday! Although the rest of recruitment will be a little hectic at times, it’s always worth it when it finally ends.
All in all I’m really happy to be back, and I look forward to updating you on the daily happenings of my life. Hope you all have a wonderful semester, and year.
-Manda.
