Wow- where did the days fly to. It’s the week right before Thanksgiving- a much needed break if I do say so myself. I’m not a big fan of turkey, but any holiday that makes you eat and eat is a winner in my books. Thanksgiving of course, has a much deeper meaning, and is definitely not only just about the food. And, since being in America, at this time of year, I find myself becoming more grateful for all the things that life has granted me. So this post is going to be about all those wonderful things I’m appreciative of.
Firstly, and most importantly- my parents. Not only are they the reason I’m here today, but they, along with the rest of my family have supported me throughout my entire life- both in my academic feats as well as my personal endeavors. I am also appreciative of my friends- both the ones here at Witt- and the ones back home. Yesterday, when I was having a bad day- I called one of my friend’s here- and she brought me freshly baked danishes with strawberry filling (Yum Yum Yum), and strawberry smoothies. Who could ask for better friends- seriously? Afterwards, my roommate and I proceeded to paint our room in glow in the dark paint. How awesome is that? Yes, I am very thankful for whoever invented glow-in the dark paint. Well, according to Google (which I must add I am VERY grateful for), it was invented by William J. Hammer in 1902. So shout-out to Hammer- our room looks amazing because of you.
So my stressful day, yes- that was mostly due to registering for classes. But, I’m all registered for Spring 2011. Finally. I’ll be taking mostly, if not all Psychology courses. But, at least after next semester I’ll be finished with all my gen-eds and my major. Too awesome. I can’t believe that Spring Semester is almost here.
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving break- with lots of pumpkin pie and turkey! Remember to be grateful for everything and everyone in your life too.
Safe travels,
Manda.
