Hola! It’s Jane. Long time no see, guys. Here, everybody looks busy all the time, because there’s always something going on. It’s a small campus but definitely not boring. We all have an abundance of homework, I know, but please spare some time to have fun with your friends. I did manage to attend several activities and decided to tell you about that before those lists of activities are stacking up in my head.
At the beginning of every school year, the Union Board brings to us Jim Wand, the famous hypnotist. It was an amazing experience. According to Dr. Jim Wand, those who want to be hypnotized would fall in a hypnotized condition and start doing whatever he told them to do, of course, no matter how ridiculous it is. They did really weird things in that show, like crying, running hysterically, sunbathing and riding a virtual horse, and winning virtual lottery and all that hilarious stuff. Some people didn’t believe in hypnotization and thought it was just acting. But even if it was just acting, man, they were good untrained actors.
I think I’m going to have wrinkles from laughing too much! Last Wednesday, Late Night Laugh series brought to us by Union Board featured the standup comedian Steve Byrne. I’m telling you, that man is a natural and it was one whole happy hour of my life. A guy sitting by me was laughing hysterically nonstop and rolling from side to side and his face was getting all red. Of course, we don’t want you to get that, but come just for the wrinkles!
Here we go, everyone, big event – the Student Activities Fair! All kinds of student organizations were there, from political, religious, academic ones to sports or recreational ones. Let me remind you, there were more than 100 of them. You will definitely find some that match your interests. It’s time to get together and get involved! It’s those organizations that will help you connect to other people and the diverse community. And who knows? Maybe you can make a significant change either for yourself or for your community, thanks to joining these clubs. And there was (great) free food (or is it just something about eating outside that makes food better?). But remember, don’t over-participate or you won’t be able to manage your schedule. And remember to check out the Union Board, because they bring wrinkles to us.
That’s it for today. I’ll get you updated on events at Witt soon!
